Tanabata festival

Tanabata is a Japanese star festival, it literally means the evening of seventh. According to Japanese and Chinese belief, it is the only day when the Orihime and Hikonoshi meet in a year.

This year, Nayun and I went to a festival held at Kappa bashi. Somewhere between Ueno and Asakusa. Despite the extremely hot temperature, the festival was so much better than what I expected. There were so many stalls and people in colorful yukata! Not forget to mention that it is free to write a wish and hang it on the bamboos provided along the street.

We walked all the way to Asakusa and took so many pictures as if we were tourists :D

An old man was offering to take pictures of us :)

Hard to see, but do you see the Sky Tree at the back?

Nothing feels more Japan than a festival or Asakusa :p
and I love both of them!
